'Gisko' rabbit poison, 1926

Black and white illustration for advertisement inscribed 'Gisko: the new rabbit poison (ready mixed)'. Shocked rabbits, discussing the fate of their dead comrades lying behind a fence, declare 'This Gisko should be stopped'; 'This is over the fence!; 'Come on home Willie!'

Poison baits, such as carrots, oat grains or pellets, were laid using an automatic hand-operated machine or cart.
