Assistant Director-General, National Coordination

Karen Griffith joined the National Archives as Assistant Director-General, National Coordination in 2009. Previously, she worked in the Department of Parliamentary Services at Parliament House where she was Assistant Secretary, Building Services Branch for the preceding three years. In this role Karen was responsible for providing a range of services in Parliament House including security, visitor services, facilities management and retail services.

Prior to this Karen was the Regional Manager, Corporate Services and Infrastructure with the Department of Defence. There she was responsible for providing support services to all Defence sites in the ACT and southern New South Wales. Her other positions have included Director of Ministerial and Parliamentary Liaison Sections and Departmental Liaison Officer.

As Assistant Director-General, National Coordination, Karen has responsibility for a number of sections:  Governance, Risk and Compliance, Strategic Relations and Personal Records, Section 33, Executive Business, and the oversight of the National Archives’ state and territory offices.
