Many of the games in the National Archives collection were designed by Christopher George King, a talented artist and illustrator. King was designing games for the National Games Company for around 30 years, from the early 1900s to the late 1920s. He registered each one for copyright including a copy of the game encased in leather-covered boards.
The Archives presented Games We Played in Canberra from 2004 to 2009. A sample of games from the exhibition are showcased here. Click on an image to view the enlargement.
