Hagley Farm School was a public school governed by a Farm Board and Advisory Council. In a 1943 report the School Inspector wrote: ‘Without a doubt the school training is giving the majority of these children a new outlook on life'. In the 1940s the farm comprised pastures, dairy, poultry and vegetable gardens.
