Golden Days in the Sun 1950–1970

In 2005 the National Archives created the touring photographic exhibition Summers Past: Golden Days in the Sun 1950–1970. Many of the photographs were taken by the Australian News and Information Bureau. A sample of favourites from the exhibition are showcased here.

Australians have an enduring love affair with the sun and the sea. These photographs are sure to stir memories of idyllic summers past. Click on an image to view the enlargement.
