Are you studying an aspect of Australian history? The National Archives invites you to use its collection of government records for your research.

Our reference officers will help you with your reading room research (in every state and territory capital).

Lecturers in any aspect of Australian studies are welcome to bring students to the Archives in Canberra. We offer RecordSearch workshops to help researchers use the database to locate the records they want.

For those new to the Archives, the Collection gives you an overview of records held, and provides useful links to many areas of study. Finding records is a useful introduction for new researchers.
