Bucket dredge A S Mayne

The 800 litre bucket dredge A S Mayne was constructed at Cockatoo Island Dockyard for the Melbourne Harbor Trust, and was allocated ship/job number 239. It was ordered on 12 September 1974, laid down on 24 February 1975, launched on 29 May 1976 and completed in March 1977. Named after the chairman of the Melbourne Harbor Trust Commissioners, Mr Arthur Stanley Mayne, it was 169 feet long, with a full load displacement of approximately 1 600 tons. These records will be available to the public when they are 30 years old.
