HMIS Bengal

Allocated ship number 156, HMIS Bengal was one of two minesweepers constructed at Cockatoo Island Dockyard for the Royal Indian Navy during World War II. Laid down on 3 December 1941, launched on 28 May 1942, and completed on 8 August 1942, HMIS Bengal was 186 feet in length and had a displacement of 735 tons.
