HMAS Kookaburra

The boom defence vessel HMAS Kookaburra was built at Cockatoo Island Dockyard for the Royal Australian Navy as ship number 126. It was laid down before the outbreak of World War II on 4 July 1938, launched on 29 October 1938, and completed on 28 February 1939. HMAS Kookaburra was 135 feet in overall length, with displacement of 533 tons. HMAS Kookaburra was paid off in 1958, and finally scuttled in March 1970.
