Cargo steamer River Clarence

The ‘A’ class cargo steamer River Clarence was constructed at Cockatoo Island Dockyard for the Australian Shipbuilding Board as ship number 159. It was laid down on 29 July 1941, launched on 2 January 1943, and completed on 31 May 1943. Its length between perpendiculars was 425 feet, and gross tonnage was 5 000 tons.
