HMAS Swan (II)

The modified Grimsby class escort sloop HMAS Swan was constructed for the Royal Australian Navy at Cockatoo Island Dockyard as ship number 115. It was laid down on 1 May 1935, launched on 28 March 1936, and completed on 10 December 1936. Its overall length was 266 feet and 3 inches, and full load displacement was 1Ê366 tons.

HMAS Swan, after eventful service during World War II as a minesweeper and escort vessel, was paid off in 1948, recommissioned as a training ship for cadet midshipmen in 1956, and finally sold in 1964 and broken up at Sydney in 1965–66.
