HMAS Warrego

The escort sloop HMAS Warrego was constructed as ship number 132. It was laid down on 15 March 1939, launched on 10 February 1940, and completed on 28 August 1940. Its specifications were the same as for HMAS Parramatta. HMAS Warrego was active in the South-West Pacific off northern Australia and around the Philippines as an escort vessel and in survey operations. After the war the vessel was employed in marine surveys, being paid off on 15 August 1963 and finally broken up in 1965–66.
