Tug Yelta

As with the steam tug Wonga, the Yelta, ship number 192, was constructed at Cockatoo Island Dockyard for the Adelaide Steamship Company. It was laid down on 25 August 1947, launched on 18 June 1948, and completed on 10 February 1949. The Yelta has since been retired to the South Australian Maritime Museum, and apart from a few records selected for retention by the National Archives, the remainder has been transferred to the museum.
