Records and information management in the Australian Government

Description

This one-day course is a mix of the 'how' and 'why' of good records management, with an emphasis on the practical knowledge and skills needed by records management staff. The course covers:

  1. Overview of records information management in the Australian Government 
  2. Records management essentials:

    • Create, capture and describe
    • Secure, store and preserve
    • Keep, destroy or transfer
  3. How the Archives can assist agencies with records management

In addition to information, advice and tips, the course includes a number of exercises to help participants develop a better practical understanding of the concepts that the course introduces.

Cost
$300 for Australian (Commonwealth) Government agencies, $400 for all other participants (GST inclusive).
