Every year on 1 January the National Archives releases the Cabinet records that document the decisions which have shaped the social, cultural and political life of Australia.
Canberra journalist Ian Warden has immersed himself in the Cabinet records of the Fraser government in 1982 and early 1983, and the Hawke government from its election in March 1983. The Out of the Cabinet changing display highlights a particular Cabinet document that captured Ian’s imagination. Each display is accompanied by an article published in the Archives’ e-magazine, Your Memento.
