Located on Aspen Island in Lake Burley Griffin, the National Carillon was a gift from the British Government to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the national capital in 1913. In 1970, Dupain captured an uninterrupted view of the building. Today, Aspen Island is covered with trees and flora.
