National Archives of Australia welcomes the Review of 2003 Cabinet records transfer to the National Archives of Australia and accepts the recommendations.

The independent Review, commissioned by the Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) and led by Mr Dennis Richardson AC, examined the circumstances surrounding the 2020 transfer of Cabinet records from PM&C to National Archives.

The Review confirmed that all 2003 Cabinet records have now been transferred from PM&C to National Archives.

In consultation with relevant stakeholders, National Archives is now working to implement the relevant recommendations and will provide an update on how they are being addressed by end June 2024.
