THE UNDER SECRETARY, PREMIER’S DEPARTMENT. [underlined]
On 5th June last, an Afghan was fired at and wounded by a white man named Kelly; the reason for this action being that the camels which the Afghan was driving were on the main track and would not give way to the teamster Kelly. This is the only report of a serious nature received by the police.
Reports and rumours of Afghans polluting the water and taking forcible possession of dams have been received by the police on various occasions, but, on enquiry, no evidence was obtainable to substantiate the same.
