24th March, 1933.
Dear Mrs. Lyons,
Just a few lines to meet you on your arrival at Kalgoorlie and to offer you and the Prime Minister a hearty welcome to this State on behalf of the Women’s Section of the Federal League.
We are thankful that you have accompanied the Prime Minister on his campaign and we feel sure it will have a fine psychological effect, which is sincerely appreciated by us. Needless to say that we have had a strenuous and difficult task to organise against the Secessionist’s propaganda which has been poisoning the minds of our people for some years past.
Enclosed please find some pamphlets and hand-bills which will give you an idea of the arrangements as far as you are concerned.
The Women’s Rally at Fremantle on Tuesday next, the Women’s Rally in the Perth Town Hall on Wednesday afternoon and the Youth Rally in the Perth on Wednesday evening are your main engagements for speaking. There are one or two private engagements such as a quiet luncheon on Tuesday, an afternoon tea engagement on Wednesday after the Rally which we can talk over on your arrival at the Station.
With kindest greetings and regards to you and Mr. Lyons,
Yours very sincerely,
[Handwritten signature:] Bessie M. Rischbieth
CHAIRMAN of WOMEN’S SECTION.
