Unloading across the fast ice - Mawson Station, Antarctica

In February 1954, Mawson Station was set up in Horseshoe Bay. Horseshoe Bay was still frozen, which was unusual for that time of year. The Kista Dan was at risk of becoming trapped in the ice.
