This is a black-and-white photograph of the Rt Hon. Andrew Fisher, Australia’s fifth Prime Minister. It is an official portrait. The photograph shows him wearing a white shirt with a vest and sporting a moustache. He is facing towards the camera. Fisher held office three times (1908–09, 1910–13 and 1914–15). He also served as Treasurer during each of these terms. Significant achievements during his tenure include the establishment of the Royal Australian Navy, and the Commonwealth Bank, and the transfer of the Northern Territory to the Commonwealth.
