The Collector of Customs,
SYDNEY.
I desire to inform you that authority has been granted for the admission to the Commonwealth for 12 months of Sayd Ahmed Pasha, an Afghan priest, on a bond in the usual form being furnished to you, and on the distinct understanding that this person will be a solely engaged in religious duties during his stay in Australia.
2. Mr Abdul Wade, Wangamana Station, via Bourke, who is interested in this case has been advised accordingly, and has been supplied with a form of bond for completion in the matter. [Written in the margin in red ink: ‘See 11/192 for reply’.] He has also been asked to furnish information as to when Seyd Ahmed Pasha may be expected to reach Australia, and on receipt of this advice you will be duly informed.
