My dear Massey,
I was pleased to receive your letter of 5th July, in which you raise in particular the question of permission being granted to Abdul Samat bin Amjah to visit his wife in Australia.
The matter has again been very carefully examined, but in view of all the circumstances the Minister is not prepared to change the previous decision
The papers these days are full of reports about conditions in Malaya and one can well appreciate that the position is very acute and disturbing. One only hopes that normal conditions will soon again prevail.
With best wishes,
Yours sincerely,
