The following message has been despatched to His Majesty the King by His Excellency the
Governor General: -
"Sir Ronald Munro Ferguson presents his humble duty to Your Majesty and on behalf of the people of Australia conveys their grateful thanks for Your Majesty's gracious message inviting the peoples of the Empire to unite in a universal celebration of the First Anniversary of the Armistice.
"Your Majesty's wishes will be loyally carried out, and on the eleventh hour, eleventh day of the eleventh month we shall remember in silence and with heartfelt gratitude the men who fell in the great War".
