The collection includes images from across Australia. Scenes range from breathtaking natural environments to iconic cityscapes.

These detailed panoramas enable us to compare the landscapes we are familiar with and notice where they have changed or remained the same.

Natural Bridge

The tiny figures crossing the Natural Bridge give scale to this momentous landscape. The granite formation is in the Torndirrup National Park, on Minang/Menang Noongar Country.

Blue Lake/Warwar

The Blue Lake/Warwar is of cultural significance to the Boandik people and has been a water source and place for recreation. 'Gordon's Leap' monument, on the far left, commemorates a daring feat by Adam Lindsay Gordon. He won a bet after jumping his horse over the guard rail onto a narrow ledge, then leaping back onto the road.

View from Princes Bridge

Melbourne's city skyline has changed dramatically over the last century. One of the more subtle differences is of St Paul's Cathedral shown before its 3 towers were added in 1926.

BHP Steel Works

The photographers in this collection range from professionals with their own studios, to amateurs such as Vernon John Beacroft. Beacroft described his profession as a 'lime keeper' in his copyright application. Newspaper advertisements from the time also indicate Beacroft was the secretary of the Steel Works Band.
