Page was elected as Member of Parliament for the seat of Cowper (NSW), in the 8th federal election.
1930 to 1939
7 Apr 1939: 11th Prime Minister
Page was appointed as caretaker Prime Minister after the death of Joseph Lyons, until the United Australia Party could elect a new leader.
26 Apr 1939: Left office
The United Australia Party elected Robert Menzies as its new leader on 22 April. Despite Page's opposition, Menzies is sworn in as Prime Minister on 26 April.
1960 to 1969
9 Dec 1961: Lost seat
After a long parliamentary career, Page lost his seat of Cowper in the 24th federal election. However, the results of the election were not determined until after Page's death on 20 December. His most notable Cabinet position was Minister for Health from 1949 to 1956.
20 Dec 1961: Death
Suffering from lung cancer, Page died on 20 December 1961.
