[underlined] Queensland: [end underlined] Permanent mosque and one priest at Mount Gravatt, near Brisbane, also one priest at Brisbane, who is about to proceed to Cloncurry, and who is said to have come from N.S.Wales.

There are only 2 resident priests, both in Perth, and about 25 Sayeds (priests) who are called descendants of the Prophet. The latter are merely lay preachers, and are working men.

[underlined] Victoria (through Mr.Pritchard): [end underline] There is no resident Mohammedan priest in Victoria who devotes all his time to religious work, but there are 3 Haffieses or Mullahs, who are hawkers. There are 2 "Shahs", decedents of the priest caste. They are also hawkers. No mosques in Victoria.
